Winchester Joint Judicial Center
Owner: City of Winchester
Architect: Moseley Architects
Location: Winchester, VA

In 2015 W. Harley Miller Contractors, Inc. began a renovation project for the City of Winchester in the Joint Judicial Center facility located in downtown Winchester.

Due to the nature of the courthouse, this project had to be completed in multiple Phases, as the facility had to remain fully functional.  This required 4 Phases of work, all talking place during the evening hours, as to not disturb the sensitive nature of the court proceedings.

Completed in 2016, the Joint Judicial Center project highlights our ability to work in an occupied space without bothering or interrupting the functions of that space, and it was a pleasure to be able to assist the Winchester officials with this large renovation project.

North Middle School
Owner: Berkeley County Board of Education
Architect: Williamson Shriver Architects, Inc.
Location: Martinsburg, WV

W. Harley Miller Contractors has been building and renovating schools for the past 50 years, and there are not too many schools in all of Berkeley County, or the Eastern Panhandle of WV for that matter, that our firm has not built or renovated at some point.

A long 2 year project, broken down into multiple phases, the renovation of one of Martinsburg's main Middle Schools was long overdue.  Started in 2013, W. Harley Miller undertook the task of renovating the existing school while having to work around students and staff.

As the school that our own Vice President, Tripp Dailey, once attended, we took great care to ensure that the wonderful design provided by Williams Shriver Architects was brought to life, and that students would not be effected by the construction activity and be able to enjoy what essentially became their brand new school.
Randy Smith - South Berkeley Recreation Center
Owner: Martinsburg Berkeley County Parks & Rec
Architect: Helbing Lipp LTD.
Location: Inwood, WV

It's not often that someone wins tens of millions of dollars in the Powerball jackpot, but that's exactly what happened to Berkeley County's former Sheriff Randy Smith.  Not wanting waste his good fortune, Mr. Smith took it upon himself to donate a large portion of his winnings so that Martinsburg Berkeley County Parks & Rec could build a brand new, multi-use, recreational facility in the southern part of Berkeley County.

As the area's premier pre-engineered metal building contractor, an American Buildings Systems dealer, the opportunity to construction this wonderful facility was a dream.  Over 18,000 sf would become home to a gymnasium that hundreds and hundreds of local kids would eventually be able to use year round.

We personally thank Mr. Smith for his wonderful contribution to our community.
